This International Literacy Day, we are delighted to announce our new charity partnership with family-friendly retailer The Works.

‘Giving back’ is an important part of The Works’ culture, that’s why staff in stores, Support Centre and their Distribution Centre will all be doing their bit to fundraise, with proceeds going towards a wide variety of our programmes, campaigns, and activities across the UK. Together, with The Works we will be able to support even more families across the UK and use our combined passion and expertise to engage and inspire the communities that we are part of.

“The Works is a perfect partner for the National Literacy Trust, with our shared passion for creating the next generation of readers and our joint commitment to working at the heart of the local community. The funds raised by teams at The Works will have a huge impact on the lives of many children living in communities facing the biggest challenges with literacy.”

Jonathan Douglas CBE, Chief Executive of the National Literacy Trust

"Everyone at The Works recognises the power of reading – as a fundamental life skill, a hobby, a source of inspiration and a means of improving wellbeing. Sadly, far too many children across the UK don’t have access to books, something we are hoping to change by partnering with the National Literacy Trust.

That’s why we’re so thrilled to be partnering with such a fantastic charity and cause. At The Works, our purpose is to inspire customers to read, learn, create, and play, so this partnership is a real match made in heaven and we can’t wait to help make a difference to the lives of families across the UK by supporting the National Literacy Trust team.”

Gavin Peck, Chief Executive Officer of The Works

We look forward to working together to help empower more children and young people with the literacy skills they need to thrive.
