Corporate partners

Corporate partners play a significant role in supporting Words for Work around the UK and there are many ways that a partner can add significant extra value to a programme. Our corporate partners have funded the project in local schools, hosted visits at their sites and provided volunteers.

Words for Work can be delivered nationally, regionally, or on a local basis depending on the priorities of your CSR policy.

If you would like more information, please contact our Corporate Partnerships Manager.

Volunteers

We’re currently working with schools through our National Literacy Trust Hubs in Bradford and Middlesbrough. You can find out more about volunteering in these areas here.

If you would like to find out more about how you can support literacy through other agencies then please see our general volunteering page.

Schools

As well as benefitting from our work, schools are also some of our biggest supporters, holding events to raise money which fund our projects. We have a range of very simple ideas which can be used to allow pupils to raise money through activities like sponsored runs, paying for non-uniform days or sponsored silences. Schools often choose to fundraise for us because the importance of literacy is something which is relevant to the daily life of every child.

If your school is fundraising for us throughout an entire year then we will do our best to provide a member of staff to speak at an assembly to talk about the work we do. Please contact our Development Team to find out more.

Local authorities

We work extensively on a regional basis and deliver a range of projects with, and on behalf of local authorities. If you are interested in funding the Words for Work programme for schools in your area please contact the Development Team. You can also find out more about our work in communities and local areas
