The NLT will use these ideas in our submissions to ensure we reflect as many of the professionals we work with as possible.

The Government has proposed a reading test for all children at age six. Is this a worthwhile expenditure in order to assess the development of a child’s literacy skills or could the money be spent more effectively elsewhere?
Libraries are facing increasing financial pressures. How do you think they can save money in order to stay open?
What will be the impact of increased freedoms for schools (academies, free schools, budgets) on literacy? How could these initiatives be used to enable schools to deliver more for less?
With the upcoming review of the Early Years Foundation Stage in mind, what do you value about the EYFS? And what would you most like to see protected?
The Government has announced that the Jim Rose primary curriculum reforms will not be implemented. How can best support the literacy of primary age children, while saving money?
