Give the Gift of Reading this Christmas

As book-lovers across the country settle down with a new novel this festive season, too many children will miss out on unwrapping a story to enjoy at Christmas. National Literacy Trust research shows that nearly one child in eight in the UK has never been given a book as a present.

You can give these children the Gift of Reading this Christmas. By donating to the National Literacy Trust, you could give a disadvantaged child a book of their own for the very first time.

We work with children and their families in disadvantaged areas, inspiring them to develop a love of reading and giving them the chance to own a book of their own. By helping these children to develop vital literacy skills we are increasing their chances of being happy and successful in adult life.

  • £7 could help us show a child how much fun reading is and let them choose a book to keep.
  • £20 could give a child a place on our reading project and three books of their very own.
  • £60 could let us work with three children, giving them a selection of books - often the first they will have ever owned.

As a thank you, we will send one of our exclusive Christmas cards to a loved one of your choice.
