Fundraising toolkit

Thank you so much for choosing to support the National Literacy Trust through your challenge or event. To make your fundraising as easy as possible we have put together our fundraising toolkit where you will find everything you need to make the most of your fundraising!

Online fundraising

The fastest and most effective way to get your fundraising off to a good start is to set up an online fundraising page. You can find the National Literacy Trust on JustGiving and Virgin Money Giving. Both sites are quick and easy to use and it should take you less than ten minutes to set up a great page.

Tips for your online fundraising page

Include a compelling story

People are much more likely to donate if they can read about your challenge or event, why you've decided to do it, what it means to you and why you've chosen to support the National Literacy Trust. If you are taking on a challenge, include details of what training you will be doing to achieve your goal.

Include a target amount

If people can see that you have a target amount to raise, they are much more likely to donate and donate more.

Include a picture

Your friends and family will like to see that it is you fundraising. Why not wear a National Literacy Trust t-shirt in your photo!

Match Funding

Many companies will match a donation that their employee makes or collects. So if you raise £100, they may turn it into £200! Contact your Human Resources Department to find out if your company offers this.
