Pearson are working with us to offer their employees the opportunity to support our work.
As part of Project Literacy - a Pearson project that aims to raise awareness of and tackle the global problem of illiteracy - we upskill Pearson staff in London and Harlow to volunteer on Early Words Together over an academic year.
Pearson volunteers go on to inspire and motivate families (parents with children aged 2-5) by offering practical ideas and fun ways to build literacy activities into daily life and consequently improve the crucial home learning environment.
The benefits and impact of the programme have been praised by parents, practitioners, volunteers and Ofsted inspectors.
Emilie Coker, VP Brand and Social Impact, Pearson said:
We are proud to partner with the National Literacy Trust on this important initiative and share your mission to raise literacy levels and help children to succeed in school and in life. Our support for Early Words Together falls under our new flagship social impact campaign Project Literacy. We are committed to working with partners like the National Literacy Trust to identify, invest in and lift up promising solutions to the global crisis of illiteracy."
