Eight out of 10 families visit McDonald’s in the UK and Happy Meals are a key part of the McDonald’s fun, family dining experience. The McDonald’s Happy Readers campaign is a long-term initiative to help increase book ownership and encourage children in the UK to discover a love of reading.
McDonald’s pledged to hand out at least 15 million fiction and non-fiction books to families across the UK by the end of 2014. To date McDonald’s have handed out 22.8 million books.
