Premier League Primary Stars
Available to every primary school in England and Wales, Premier League Primary Stars inspires girls and boys aged 5-11 in the classroom, the playground and on the sports field.
The programme provides free lesson plans, activities and video content for boys and girls aged 5-11. These are designed to inspire learning in Maths, English, PE and Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE). Working with the Premier League, we have created all of the English resources for the programme including the individual resource packs Lion's Lair, Roving Reporters, All Together Now, Star Quality and Matchday Magic.
Premier League Reading Stars
Developed by the National Literacy Trust, Premier League Reading Stars is an evidence-based and effective recovery reading intervention for boys and girls who might not enjoy reading, but do enjoy football! Supporting pupils to read a wide-range of formats about the subject they love, Reading Stars is free, delivered in partnership with the Premier League and is part of Premier League Primary Stars. Teachers who register to take part in Premier League Reading Stars will receive special incentives and opportunities.
Premier League Magazine Team
Developed in partnership with the National Literacy Trust and with teachers and magazine professionals from BBC Match Of the Day magazine, Girl Talk and MEGA magazines to ensure it really works in schools AND has the kudos to engage your pupils. Premier League Magazine Team supports the delivery of the statutory requirements for the English Programme of Study in the English and Welsh curricula. It is an ideal sister programme to Premier League Reading Stars, and can be used with the same pupils.
Premier League Footy Phonics
We know that reading can be challenging for many pupils, and phonics plays a big part in that. Footy Phonics is an active literacy intervention to support children in developing the important skill of understanding phonics.
We have built this intervention based on current phonics research and programmes. In Footy Phonics, leaders are given the tools to revise and reinforce phonics skills that have been taught in the classroom through football-themed, engaging activities.
Premier League takeovers
The National Literacy Trust and the Premier League Charitable Fund host regular free virtual author events.
Each event comes with a specially created challenge resource to keep the fun going.
