UEFA Euro 2012 official logoWith the biggest football event in Europe now having kicked off in Poland and the Ukraine, football author Tom Palmer is very kindly produced some fantastic resources for us to help you use the excitement of the Euro 2012 tournament to get your pupils reading:

Daily cliff-hanger story: The Great Euro 2012 Swindle

Tom PalmerThe Great Euro 2012 Swindle is the sequel to Black Op, the first book in Tom Palmer’s new spies and football Squad series. The story will be influenced by the events of Euro 2012, and a new chapter will be written by Tom every evening after the games have been played. Also, every Friday, children will be invited to vote on what will happen next in the story.

New chapters will be published every weekday at 8am. The story will come to an exciting climax on Thursday 28 June*.

In the build-up to Euro 2012 and during the tournament itself, Tom will also be blogging regularly. His latest blog provides ideas for teachers to pass on to parents for using the tournament as an opportunity to read with their child at home.
