A message from the Night Zookeeper

Good evening.

Welcome to my zoo.

Spying GiraffeWell, it's not exactly my zoo but at night, when everybody else is asleep and it's just me and the animals, I like to believe it's mine.

Perhaps I should introduce myself. I am the Night Zookeeper. While most people are at home in bed I am hard at work with the animals in my Zoo. I bring them their food, clean their enclosures, replace their bedding and make sure they are all happy and well looked after.

I started working here about a week ago as the Night Zookeeper. None of the day time zookeepers like me. They treat me like I'm not needed or wanted at the zoo, but I know my work is important. It doesn't sound like a great job, but this is no ordinary zoo, my zoo has animals that you will not find anywhere else in the world.

Join me on my nightly rounds and you will see for yourself...

Our Promise

We are all Night Zookeepers. Whether 5 years old or 75 years young, we are all capable of a Night Zookeeper’s most powerful magic, imagination. For we also all live in at least two worlds; the world of daytime and the world of dreams. The Night Zoo belongs to the second world. It is a world where we are completely free to create whatever our imagination desires with no regard to conformity, doubt or fear.Tigelle

Children across the world are united through this power of magical imagination as equally as they are united through their shared interest and love for animals. It is our goal to enable children around the world, to use these common interests to inspire their learning through creation, crafts and most importantly, fun.

How do we encourage creativity?

The Story

The Night Zookeeper is based around a popular children's story. Children that experience the project are invited in to a world of endless possibilities where elephants can travel in time and flamingos have magical healing features. The story stimulates imaginations and encourages children to express themselves and celebrate their creativity.

The school visits

school visitsWe have visited a great many schools across the UK and have found each visit to be incredibly successful. The children enjoy meeting the Head Night Zookeeper in person and become inspired to produce some of their best writing and artwork. These cross-curricular experiences span a range of subjects from ICT, Literacy, Art, PE and many more! Please contact paul@nightzookeeper.com if you would like to receive more information on the full Night Zookeeper in school experience.

Video chat and online resources

school visitsThe Night Zookeeper can be reached by a variety of video chat software and he is more than happy to start a project for you from deep inside the heart of Night Zoo! We also provide free and easy to download resources for you to use with your students in your class.

The website

Zook Nightzookeeper.com is full of unique creativity and is a celebration of artistic expression. We encourage everybody that takes part in the Night Zookeeper project to upload their creations to their very own ZOOK. This enables children to share their work easily with their teacher, friends and family members at home.
