Love Rugby: Love Reading

rugby toolkitIn 2011 Puffin author, Tom Palmer, worked with the National Literacy Trust to produce this fantastic resource, packed with ideas for teachers and librarians to use throughout the 2011 Rugby Union World Cup.

The toolkit gave practitioners the opportunity to use sport to engage young people who might be more interested in rugby than reading. It was ideal for supporting boys’ literacy in and outside the classroom, targeting reluctant readers, combating negative peer pressure and increasing school library use.
