The Reading Connects family involvement toolkit was written
following a cafe-style discussion conference in 2006 which
brought together a wide range of experts in engaging parents
and other family members with their children's reading. It
was written for primary and secondary schools and provides
the tools needed to reach out to families and encourage them
to make their homes reading homes. You can download a pdf
version of the toolkit on this page. If you would like to get your
hands on a hard copy, you will need to become a Reading Connects
school (find out how to become a Reading Connects school )
or Reading Connects partner (SLS or local authority consultant - find
out how to become a Reading Connects partner).
New Reading Connects schools and partners
If you have recently joined Reading Connects, as a school or partner, you will
automatically be sent a copy of the family involvement toolkit
in your welcome pack.
Existing Reading Connects schools and partners
Please note that all Reading Connects schools that signed up prior to January 2007
were sent an email with a link to an order form. If you
did not receive this email please contact nick.batty@literacytrust.org.uk
to enable us to confirm your contact details. All Reading
Connects partners (LA consultants and SLSs) that had signed up prior to January 2007 were sent a copy
of the toolkit automatically.
