INSET can be booked by local authorities and School
Library Services who are looking to provide training for groups of schools. The training, which has received
excellent feedback, can be adapted for different audiences, including for example literacy coordinators,
school librarians, headteachers or English departments. A typical INSET would look at how to develop a reading culture within a school, with a particular focus on how to engage boys and families in the process. At the end of the session schools are encouraged to work on a plan to move forward with the ideas that they have heard and liked, as well as being given the opportunity to sign up to Reading Connects and Reading Champions and walk away with all of the resources.
Cost: £250/half day or £450/full day plus travel expenses. Costs
include materials that can be used in planning and implementing
activities in school.
All profits go towards supporting the National Literacy Trust's
work to change lives through literacy.
