that "Reading is fun!" in a variety of languages.
From left to right, the languages featured are Gujarati, Japanese,
Somali, English, Bengali, Cantonese, Turkish, Polish and Urdu.
The poster will print out to A4 size. If you can translate
"Reading is fun" into any other languages, please
email sarah.osborne@literacytrust.org.uk.
Reader
of the month certificate (.pdf)
Hold a competition in school to find your reader of the month.
Award the winning pupil with this Reading Connects certificate.
The text box is editable to allow you to add the name of the
pupil and the date that the certificate was awarded. The certificate
will print out to A4 size.
Read
of the week poster (.pdf)
Advertise your recommended read of the week to pupils and
staff by editing the text box on this downloadable poster,
as well as the date box. The poster will print out to A4 size.
Get
caught reading poster (.pdf)
Lend a digital camera to pupils and set them the task of photographing
staff (teaching and non-teaching) reading. Set the pupils
the challenge of finding out about the person's favourite
read, author and the last book that they read as well. Download
the Get caught reading poster and add text in the speech bubbles. Also enter
the person's name in the appropriate box. Print out the poster
and then stick on the image manually. Create a number of these
posters and make a display of them in school.
Top
ten Reads poster (.pdf)
Create your top ten reads poster by editing the text boxes
in this poster and printing it out to A4 size.
Top
reading tip of the month (.pdf)
Spread the word about your top reading tip of the month among
staff by downloading this poster and editing the main text
box. Print the certificate out and stick it up on the notice
board in the staffroom.
Shelf
talker (.pdf)
Used in bookshops, this shelf talker will help enhance your
book display by highlighting a particular book on a shelf.
Edit the text box with the title of the book that you are
recommending on the shelf and print the file out onto card.
Then fold the card in the middle and lay the top half of the
shelf talker on the bookshelf with the bottom half hanging
down at the front of the shelf.
Bookmark
(.pdf)
Edit the text boxes on the bookmark, for example "If
you liked Stormbreaker, try Point Blanc by the same
author". Print out the bookmarks onto card and use
them in the school library.
Reading
passport (.pdf)
Edit the text box with the pupil's name and print out the
passport (onto card if possible). Fold the passport according
to the simple fold instructions and open the passport again,
complete with fold lines. Trim the border of the passport
and refold according to the fold lines already created. Hand
the passports out to pupils. Every time a pupil reads a book,
award them with a stamp or sticker. When pupils have read
10 books, they have completed their reading challenge.
Well
done stickers (.pdf)
These stickers can be used to reward pupils for their achievements.
The appropriate labels (clip labels C50) can be ordered from
www.cliplabels.com/detail.asp?stockID=38.

and the Top Reader stickers can be used to reward your pupils
for their achievements. Use Avery Address Labels (16 per page)
- PORTRAIT L7162 to print out the stickers.
