  King Richard School in Portsmouth are working wonders with their functional skills sessions for the students in year seven who are in the bottom set in English.

  Case study - Fit 4 Reading

  The Fit 4 Reading scheme is run by Stockport local authority with secondary schools in the area. It is a reading project which sees Year 10 trained as reading coaches to enable them to help Level 3 Year 7 pupils improve and enjoy their reading.

  Mile Oak Primary School in Brighton has helped raise the profile of reading in the school and local community by building their Reading Walk of Fame plaques, Hollywood-style.
