Projects and our network
We run a number of projects and work with a range of professionals to provide support for the development of literacy skills and change lives through literacy.
Our membership network supports professionals who work in or with schools to raise literacy attainment, through practical resources for the classroom and library, exciting CPD opportunities and a forum to learn from others.
We are supporting the teaching of whole texts to increase pupils' enjoyment of reading in London schools, with each receiving their own BookBench to design and decorate.
We are supporting prisoners and young offenders to increase their enjoyment and frequency of reading.
We work with children's centres to identify families in need of support around early home learning.
We improve parents' confidence in helping their children develop good reading and communication skills.
We are working with Oxfordshire County Council to help secondary schools to target literacy across the whole curriculum.
We are working with the National Portrait Gallery and Apples and Snakes to support the teaching of creative poetry writing at Key Stages 2 and 3.
Our reading intervention programme harnesses the motivational power of football to encourage pupils to improve their literacy skills.
We are working with the Welsh Government to pilot our Premier League Reading Stars programme in Wales in 2014/15, alongside additional training and support.
We unlock young people's speaking and listening skills for future employability.
We motivate disadvantaged children and their families to read.
