Practical idea - Linking with the local library: Class visits

One way to familiarise pupils with what the public library has to offer is to arrange class visits to the library. This will help to provide pupils with a wider range of reading material than that in the school library.
You could also work with the local library to encourage pupils to sit on focus groups for services offered by the library as well as being involved in stock selection.
