Practical ideas

Practical idea - Whole school read: one school, one book

18 Feb 2011

Choose a book which you think will appeal to both boys and girls in the school and announce the title as book of the term. Encourage all the pupils and staff to read the book and join in with reading activity organised around it, for example a reading group or a visit from the author.

Read a case study about how one school used The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas to develop pupil's understanding of historical events.
