Practical idea - Club sessions themed according to pupils’ interests

18 Feb 2011

If you are targeting a group of reluctant readers, find out what they are interested in and set up a club based on their interests, including the name of the club. If the target pupils have a range of interests, you could change the theme of the sessions each week and get the pupil most interested in the theme to help plan and run the session. Introduce reading into the sessions by encouraging the pupils to find out more about their interests through different games and activities.
