Practical idea - Whole setting strategy
22 Feb 2010
Whatever the profile of language and literacy within your setting try to raise it by moving language and literacy closer to the forefront of your development plan.
If possible, bring together a group of enthusiasts to help you plan your strategy. Depending on the size of your setting, you might want to include a member of senior management and two parents, preferably a mum and a dad.
If you are a member of the Early Years Network you can access the whole-setting audit. This easy-to-use tool will help you to review your current approach to language and literacy and to improve your provision.
Use the NLT website for more practical ideas and resources to help you put your plan into action.
