Practical idea - Displays for children

22 Feb 2010

Create interactive displays that are for children to explore and investigate. Make sure they are child-height. Real care needs to be taken to display books and resources in an inviting way using a range of textures and colours.

Use a simple whiteboard to allow children to draw their own story and tell it to their practitioners or their friends. You could also provide children with symbols or pictures to stick on to the board to help them to create a story.

Use story sacks and story boxes as part of displays.

Read this case study about an innovative display in a nursery.
