Practical idea - A cuddly toy to take home

22 Feb 2010

Encourage the children to take particular cuddly toys home with them to read to (or join them for bedtime stories)

The next day, when they and their toy come back, they can then recount what stories they have read to the toy, or that he has heard on his travels.

If children respond to this, you could provide puppets for them as well. This case study explains how a children's centre used puppets to improve children's language and literacy.
