Practical idea - Family story books

22 Feb 2010

Encourage families to create family story books full of positive visual memories of their child’s early years. They may be able to do this at home, if you provide them with some tips or guidance.

Alternatively you could invite families in to your setting for a session dedicated to making family story books. This could provide you with a fun way of engaging with parents and carers as well as allowing you to model good speaking and listening to them.

Read this case study to find out about how family story book sessions have worked in a setting.
