Practical idea - Modelling to parents and carers

Parents and carers do not always know how to support their child's language and literacy development so try to model positive behaviour to them at every available opportunity. Modelling can be done when children are picked up from your setting or as part of a family session in your setting.
Some parents and carers will need support in how to share stories with their child while others may need to know how to encourage good speaking and listening skills.
