Working with the National Literacy Trust
Would your school like to work more closely with us?
Read on to find out how your school could apply to use the ‘working with the National Literacy Trust’ logo.
We are looking for school-based members of our network to share their experiences of language and literacy provision. Would you be willing to tell us about activities you have used, projects you have run, events you have put on and strategies you have employed? We would like to find out what works and feature case studies which show how real impact has been achieved. These stories will then be shared with the rest of our community through this website.
What do I have to do?
In order to use the 'working with the National Literacy Trust' logo schools need to produce two case studies over a 12 month period. To give you a better idea here are some examples:
- A secondary school invites local sportsmen in to talk about reading and writing to a group of underachieving boys.
- A primary school runs a series of sessions for parents and carers to provide information about language development and ideas for home learning activities.
You might also want to try out one our downloadable resources and show how effective it is in practice.
Each case study should be based on one of the following themes:
- Family involvement
- Boys’ literacy
- Children with English as an additional language
- Children with additional educational needs
- Linking with the local community
- Use of digital technology
- Staff development
- Transition
A case study template is available for you to use.
