    More than a third of children spend less than an hour outside each day, The Guardian reports. According to the National Trust's survey, eight out of 10 youngsters feel they spend too much time indoors, watching television or playing computer games.

    Ofsted report highlights the significance of reading for pleasure

    The Guardian reports that schools have been ordered to overhaul their English teaching after a three-year study by Ofsted, published today, finding 30% of lessons are not good enough and little attempt is made to encourage teenagers to read for pleasure.

    One in ten young people in England out of work and not in school
