Canterbury Tales pilgrimage
6 Mar 2012
One of our supporters is celebrating the 625th anniversary of the journey in Geoffrey Chaucer’s famous poem and recreating the Canterbury Tales.
This four-day trek from Southwark to Canterbury will stay as true to the original story as possible, with participants telling tales along the route set upon by the pilgrims. The adventure will start on the eve of 17 April with a medieval feast at London’s last remaining galleried coach inn, next to the site of the Tabard.
The next morning they will start on the same 60 miles, visiting sites such as Rochester Cathedral and have special access to a medieval pilgrim’s hostel.
The trip will end with a farewell feast at the Pilgrim’s Hotel on the Saturday to celebrate.
