Brand new reading conference for primary schools
5 Mar 2012
Following last week’s World Book Day, we’re pleased to announce a brand new reading conference to revitalise the theory and practice of teaching reading beyond decoding. It will take place on 14 and 15 June in York and London, respectively.
Aimed at leaders and practitioners, “Reading Talk, Reading Thought” is a practical primary conference covering a range of topics aligned to reading for meaning and reading beyond decoding. The day will include:
- The importance and power of reciprocal reading
- The purpose of guided reading both at Key Stage 1 and 2 and how to develop creative, engaging guided reading sessions
- How to develop a whole school reading culture with a host of practical ideas to engage and motivate pupils to read.
