Consultation on proposals for Early Years Foundation Stage

23 Dec 2011

Between July and September 2011, the Government consulted on a revised Early Years Foundation Stage framework. The Government’s response to the consultation has now been published

The reforms included reduced paperwork and bureaucracy for professionals; a strong focus on the three prime areas of learning most essential for children’s healthy development and future learning; simplified assessment at age five; and a new written progress check at age two.

The Department for Education has today launched a one month consultation on the proposed changes. This provides a further opportunity to comment on the Government's proposals. You can access the consultation documents here:  http://www.education.gov.uk/consultations
