Barnsley girls power to victory in the WWE® Voice it! competition

We are delighted to announce that the winners of our WWE® Voice it! competition are Brogan and Molly from Birdwell Primary School in Barnsley.
Brogan and Molly were two of many pupils across the UK who submitted film clips of themselves trying to persuade chose a topic a WWE® Superstar or Diva to share their views about a topic they feel passionate about.
The judging panel, which included WWE® Superstar Wade Barratt, deliberated long and hard over a fantastic shortlist of entries, but eventually Molly and Brogan, whose entry was about dance, were selected as worthy winners.
Wade Barratt commented, “[the performance was] informative as well as full of energy and enthusiasm - this was very well spoken, eloquent and I enjoyed watching the piece.”
The lucky winners will be Guest Managers for the night at a WWE® UK event in the winter 2011, escorting the Superstars and Divas to the ring in front of thousands of fans. They’ll also get to hang out with the Superstars and Divas backstage before the show.
The news of the competition result has been met with great excitement by the winners. Brogan said, “When we got told we’d won, I was so shocked and speechless! Me and Molly couldn’t believe it!”, and Molly added “My whole body just built up in excitement.”
Their teachers and fellow pupils from Birdwell Primary School are also very pleased that someone from their school has won the competition. Headteacher Ms Gilmour said, “We are proud of Molly and Brogan who have persuaded wrestlers to take up dance. They have thought hard and planned their presentations well. They are a credit to the school.”
Next term the National Literacy Trust will be teaming up with Renaissance Learning to bring a writing-based competition to schools. The competition will be launched in September, and further details will be available soon on our Schools Network pages.
