Notice to all Reading Champions schools

12 Jan 2011

From March 2011, Reading Champions will no longer be funded by Department for Education (DfE). We’d like to thank the DfE for making Reading Champions possible and for all their support to date, and whilst the DfE funding is coming to an end we think that Reading Champions is so important that we want to do all we can to help you continue running it in your school.

Will I still be able to access all the Reading Champions information?
Yes, all our existing online resources, ideas and case studies will still be available, as well as our framework.

Can I still nominate?
You will still be able to nominate Reading Champions online until 31 March. After this point, this facility will no longer be available, but you will be able to request a report of all your past nominations.

Can I still update my blog?
We will be migrating our blogging facility over to our WikiReadia site in due course, where you will be able to continue to keep the world updated on what your Reading Champions are getting up to. However, there may be a short period during this changeover where the blogging facility will be suspended.

Will I still receive a monthly newsletter?
Yes, we’ll send you a new and improved monthly newsletter, which contains specific news and information for schools.

Will I still receive badges and certificates?
Unfortunately, from March 2011 we will no longer be able to offer badges and certificates free, but you will be able to purchase packs containing 60 certificates and badges (20 bronze, 20 silver and 20 gold) for £60, so that you can continue to run Reading Champions in your school.

We are working hard to ensure that this transition is smooth and hassle free for all our members. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email us.
