Sure Start centres 'do reach neediest families'

24 Sep 2010

The charity 4Children has published a new study based on Ofsted reports, which finds that Sure Start centres are reaching the most vulnerable families.

The report is an analysis of Ofsted reports on 37 Sure Start centres. It found that 22 of the centres included in the analysis are providing good outreach services, 12 are providing acceptable outreach services and only four are failing to reach the hard-to-reach families in their area.

The findings of the report will be used to support the 4Children campaign “Shout Out for a Sure Start”,  which is urging the Government to exclude Sure Start from October’s spending review cuts.
