DfE publishes Structural Reform Plan identifying priorities and timetable

13 Jul 2010

The Department for Education (DfE) today published “The Schools System Draft Structural Reform Plan”, highlighting its priorities ahead of the Spending Review due this autumn.

Departmental priorities named in the document are: greater autonomy for schools, improved parental choice, more support for the poorest and whole system improvement.

The plans set out in the document are intended to be consistent with and form part of the DfE’s contribution to the Spending Review. The document also sets out a timescale for when the public is likely to see the reforms take place.

The full White Paper will be published in the autumn. For the full document “The Schools System Draft Structural Reform Plan”: http://www.education.gov.uk/news/news/~/media/Files/lacuna/news/SchoolsSystemStructuralReformPlanpdf.ashx
