Calling sci-fi and fantasy fans! Take part in our Mostly Harmless quiz series

2 Aug 2017

We are delighted to launch Mostly Harmless– a series of sci-fi and fantasy quizzes supported by publishers including the Orion Publishing Group and Orbit Books.

The first event will be held at The Reliance in Shoreditch on Thursday 22 August, where teams will battle it out in a bid to win the Mostly Harmless Cup – a prize coveted throughout the galaxies! Sci-fi and fantasy fanatics can expect a traditional pub quiz with a twist, as rounds include questions about the geography of Westeros, the history of Ankh Morpork and the sounds of Star Wars.

Teams can include up to eight super fans, with prizes on the night for the best costumes and team names. These include limited edition prints from the new illustrated edition of the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, donated by Bloomsbury Publishing and signed books from Orbit Books. Other prizes come from Orion Publishing Group and

dragonDoors open at 6.30pm and the quiz starts at 7pm. The entrance fee is £10 in advance or £12 on the night, which includes a free Galactic Gargle blaster cocktail. All profits raised will help us change the life stories of some of the most disadvantaged children in the UK.

For those based outside London, we’re asking sci-fi and fantasy fans around the country to host their own local quizzes in support of our work. Mostly Harmless committee members will receive access to our discussion forum and ideas bank where they will find ready-made quizzes, marketing materials and Eventbrite online registration pages.
