We support The Great Easter Reading Eggspedition
7 Mar 2013
We are pleased to announce that we are supporting The Great Easter Reading Eggspedition, a free fun-filled online event for children, designed to promote a love of reading.
Open to all UK Primary schools, the week-long literacy quest will take place from Monday 18 March to Friday 22 March. 'Eggsplorers' will embark upon their personal reading 'eggspedition', taking them on a journey of half a dozen steps, collecting golden eggs along the way. They will discover a new engaging world of reading where they can 'eggscel' in their literacy learning.
The Great Easter Reading Eggspedition is suitable for Early Years and Key Stage 1 and 2. In Scotland the event is suitable for Early Years and P1 to P6.
Speaking on its decision to support the event, Abigail Moss, Deputy Director of the National Literacy Trust said:
Reading for pleasure is a key part of developing good literacy skills. The Great Easter Reading Eggspedition is a great example of an event that can engage children in reading in a new and exciting way.
