Sign up for our Where's Wally? fun run by 20 March
6 Mar 2013
There are only a few days left to sign up to our Where’s Wally? fun run. With the event open to anyone over the age of eight, we have hundreds of sign-ups from people of all ages and from all walks of life. We even have one participant coming all the way from Thailand to support us! If you still haven’t signed up to join our team of Wallys you can still do so until 20 March.
With the event close at hand, this is a good time to reflect on why we are calling on our supporters to turn up, dress up, and help us with the National Literacy Trust’s work.
We need people to walk, run or jog 5K or 10K to help us give children a route out of poverty. You could help children like eight-year-old Mia. She lives on a tough estate and her parents are illiterate so there are no books at home or stories at bedtime. Thanks to the National Literacy Trust, Mia has become the first reader in her family. She has been to our storytelling events and chosen books to keep. As she gets older we will give her the skills she needs to get a job.
This year we need your help to work with 38,000 children like Mia.
