National Literacy Trust featured in TV celebrity homage to famous writers

27 Feb 2012

In Love With DickensTo celebrate the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens' birth, five of Britain’s best loved actors have gathered to perform their favourite passages from the Victorian writer's work for the 'In Love With...' series on Sky Arts.

Leading the cast is actor, writer and theatre director Simon Callow who will read from the esteemed author's timeless classic, A Christmas Carol. In support of the National Literacy Trust the series will feature the charity in the opening sequence, before and after every advert break and leading into the closing credits of each programme. We are highlighting the statistics that one person in six in the UK struggle to read and write and one child in three do not own a book.

‘In Love With...Dickens’ will run throughout March. Next in the series will be programmes on Noel Coward, to debut March 12, and Oscar Wilde premiering March 19.

Read more about these programmes and their viewing times at Sky Arts.
