New Assistant Director's role at the National Literacy Trust - potential secondment opportunity
1 Aug 2011
The National literacy Trust is at a very exciting stage in our development: Driven by our belief that literacy is crucial to the creation of a fairer society, we are developing new programmes and campaigns to address the emerging literacy challenges created by changes in society and the economy.
We are developing new insights and skills and we are keen to innovate and make the most of emerging opportunities. Following the end of direct government funding on 1st April 2011 we are working to a new business model and are growing our turnover.
We are currently developing a new 3 year Corporate Plan (2012-15) to capture our vision for the future of our work.
To help us build this vision we want to appoint an Assistant Director to lead the creation of the development strategy for the new Corporate Plan and address two specific challenges which are central to our future:
- We need to strengthen our already highly successful partnerships with corporates. Ultimately they are key players in addressing the national literacy challenge. We need to mobilise them and deepen our partnerships with them.
- We need to develop our individual supporters, particularly through media and partnership campaigns which engage and inspires them.
The Assistant Director Development and Campaigns will be managed directly by the Trust’s Director and will line manage the Development Team and the Head of Communications. The appointment will be for 6 months (from 1st October 2011 to the end of March 2012).
If you share our vision, have a strong knowledge of corporates and fundraising, experience of campaign management and can lead change at a high level in an organisation we would like to hear from you.
The job description and person specification for the role are attached.
If you are interested in applying for the role, either as a temporary post or as a secondment please email your CV by 12th August to jacky.taylor@literacytrust.org.uk
