Early Years Single Funding Formula begins

1 Apr 2011

From 1 April 2011 the Early Years Single Funding Formula will come into force. The new “more transparent funding system” will require local authorities to fund providers by the number of children rather than places. The Department for Education says that this means the funding will follow the child and will not be wasted on empty places.

For more information about the Single Funding Formula please see the Department for Education website.
