Ossie helps launch new Everton book
Leon Osman helped to launch a new Everton book written by the fans yesterday.
We Are Everton is a compilation of stories provided by Everton supporters. Produced by the Club, in partnership with the National Literacy Trust and Legends Publishing, the book reflects the memories and experiences of supporters both young and old.
Players and managers may come and go but it is the supporters who give the permanent character to a club like Everton. The book is a celebration of the fans and reveals the fun, the absurd, the emotional, the passionate, the peculiar or the unbelievable that is part and parcel of following the Blues.
Leon visited the Club store Everton Two in Liverpool One on Tuesday, 14 December to meet fans and sign copies of the new book.
Commenting on the new book, Leon said: “Everton fans are really special and never let us down. They travel the length and breadth of the world to watch us play so I am sure there will be some fantastic stories inside the book.”
We Are Everton was delivered by Everton in the Community, Legends Publishing and the National Literacy Trust, with funding from Arts Council England, the Football Foundation and the Professional Footballers' Association. Funding allowed the project to not only produce an entertaining read but serve a number of benefits to the Club and the local community.
Six-hundred free copies of the book will be donated to local schools, libraries and community groups to help strengthen the Club’s links with the local community and encourage people to read.
We Are Everton costs just £10 and is available from both Everton One and Everton Two with all the proceeds being donated to Everton in the Community, the Club’s official charity.
This Christmas fans can find a great selection of Everton merchandise at Everton One, Everton Two and online at evertondirect.com. Fans can choose from 2 for 1 on selected menswear items and 3 for 2 on Christmas gifts for all the family.
Everton offers a unique Click and Collect service so fans can order their gifts online and collect from either Everton One or Everton Two. Plus there is a gift wrapping service available in store and online.
