Smile, Talk and Listen: doing our best for babies conference report now available for download

Talk To Your Baby’s 18 October 2010 conference Smile, Talk and Listen: doing our best for babies was a great success. Jean Gross, Communication Champion, announced the plans for the National Year of Communication, including its name Hello. Liz Attenborough revealed the findings of the Face to Face research project, including the fact that parents do not understand their role in developing their child’s communication skills. Sylvia Baddeley gave a truly inspiring presentation about the importance of touch and Julia Manning Morton presented the research she has been a part of around wellbeing. Kathy Goouch presented findings from research on what goes on in a baby room and representatives from Kirklees, Leicester, Devon, Wiltshire and Sheffield discussed the work being done in their areas on early years and early communication.
