The Good Childhood Index
22 Oct 2010
The Children’s Society has created a new way of measuring the wellbeing and quality of life of children in the UK: The Good Childhood Index. The index is a new tool for practitioners and professionals to measure children’s wellbeing by asking them about it. Developed with the University of York, the index focuses on ten areas: family, friends, health, appearance, time use, the future, home, money and possessions, school and amount of choice.
The index is free for other organisations to use and, says the Children’s Society, is a more concise and precise way of measuring children’s wellbeing.
The index can be found on the Children’s Society website.
