Flying Start is having a positive impact

20 Oct 2010

An interim report on the Flying Start programme in Wales has found that it is having a positive impact on the social and emotional development of children who are taking part. The Flying Start programme, implemented by the Welsh Assembly Government in 2007, provides support services for under-threes and free childcare for two-year-olds.

The report found that Flying Start children were identified by teachers as having “noticeable differences” and were better prepared for school, settled in quicker, behaved better and were more confident in their interactions with other children.

For full report please see the Welsh Assembly website.
