National Literacy Trust makes submission to Spending Review

27 Aug 2010

Having announced this autumn’s Spending Review, the Coalition Government has signalled its intention to embark on public expenditure cuts in order to tackle the deficit.

In July, via the Treasury website, the Government invited members of the public to submit their ideas on how public services could deliver more for less in the coming years.

“Literacy in the Spending Review” is the National Literacy Trust’s contribution to the debate over why Government should continue to fund initiatives designed to improve literacy if it is realise its wish of building a fairer, bigger society.
