Winner of the Reading Connects and Reading Champions School of the Year competition 2009/10

23 Jul 2010

Congratulations to Don Valley Performing Arts College in Doncaster, which has been chosen as the Reading Connects School of the Year 2009-2010 and Ambleside Primary School in Nottingham, which has been chosen as the Reading Champions School of the Year 2009-2010.

Over this year Don Valley College has worked hard setting up cross-curricular events, reading groups and projects with local primary schools. It has also developed strong links with parents and been particularly successful at getting students themselves involved in the college’s literacy promotion.

Ambleside Primary School has fully embraced the Reading Champions ethos and demonstrates how the students take ownership of Reading Champions activities.

Both schools have won £300 to spend on literacy materials. Look out for their stories in the September newsletter.
