Successful engagement with families
21 Jun 2010
A new booklet for professionals working with young children and families, Principles for Engaging with Families, has been published by the National Children’s Bureau for the National Quality Improvement Network. The booklet will discuss how best to encourage successful engagement with families in order to acknowledge what they already do well with their children, and support them in their parenting role.
The booklet shows that partnership work between parents and professionals should be based on an approach that recognises and builds on parents’ expertise, and where professionals and parents really listen to and learn from each other.
