Young carers workers invited to join steering group
15 Jun 2010
The National Young Readers’ Programme has funding available to develop its offer of events and free books into a project which really addresses the needs of selected young carers and their families.
We would like to set up a steering group of young carers practitioners to help advise the work of the project to make sure that what we do together is relevant and interesting for young carers, their families and young carers services. We believe that this will be a great chance to help tailor the family reading programmes into a version that specifically meets the needs of the young carers you work with. This pilot project has the potential to offer free reading materials, events, advice and support for many young carers nationally in the future. Please note that travel and expenses will be paid to steering group members.
If you’d like to sign up to be on the steering group, expressing your preference for dates, times and locations of meetings, please enter your details here https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/nationalliteracytrust by 11th June (end of this week!)
Places will be allocated on a first come, first-serve basis – those who sign up will receive confirmation of dates and times once all places are filled. The sign up will close once all places have gone, and a waiting list will be operate in its place.
