National Literacy Trust World Cup resources are a go go!

The National Literacy Trust is ready and raring to go for the World Cup! A range of World Cup reading resources are available online now for teachers and librarians to help encourage young people's reading through the power of football.
On Monday morning (7 June) children's author Tom Palmer began his World Cup daily episodic story. The third instalment has been posted online today (9 June) and the first two instalement are available too, so if you have not started to read Tom's World Cup Mystery tale to your students yet, you can still join in.
Tom's writing a new chapter every evening, weaving all the latest World Cup news and match events into his story about Football Detective Danny Harte, and the National Literacy Trust will be posting the new chapters, along with daily writing exercises by 8am each morning. So download it today and get your group inspired!
Today we have also posted Tom's football book reviews. Another great, free, resource to combine with our football-shaped book review sheets, football book jackets for you to download in pdf format, Tom's World Cup blog (which features all the best literacy practices out there, email me, jim.sells@literacytrust.org.uk, if you have some great ideas you want to share), Tom's Chatterpack and wordsearches and crosswords.
