Half of UK consumers now buy books online

A study by Nielsen BookScan has revealed that almost half of UK consumers now buy books online. The Nielsen Homescan survey found that buying books is among one of the most popular online activities along with email, search engines, online banking and checking the weather.

According to the survey four out of five UK consumers also check books online before making a purchase.

On the list of most popular online activities, buying books came higher than buying holidays and study and research.
