Funding secured to continue the work of Reading for Life
17 Dec 2009
The campaign has secured funding from The JJ Charitable Trust, SHINE, the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, the Man Group plc Charitable Trust and the KPMG Foundation, as well as endorsement by the Department for Children, School and Families. The funding will enable us to maintain and develop www.readingforlife.org.uk and to continue our work with brand partners. Since April 2009, Reading for Life has worked with brands including Iceland supermarkets, Haven Holidays and Marmite to take reading to new audiences.
A recent report on the Reading for Life television advert shows that it has been aired free of charge 18,764 times over the past quarter (July – September 2009), including in high value slots on over 30 channels such as Bravo, FIVE and Channel 4. The advert starred a number of celebrities and the value of this airtime has been estimated at nearly £1.5m. It is predicted that we will benefit from another £1m’s worth of airtime in the next quarter.
